ARTIST STATEMENT
우리의 좋은 기억이든 나쁜 기억이든 기록을 하지 않으면 시간이 지나면서 서서히 잊혀진다.
어린 시절 재밌게 보았던 카툰과 애니메이션은 나에게 좋은 기억으로 남아있다.
나는 그 추억들을 나만의 방식으로 기록해 나가기 시작했다.
내 작업 스타일에서 뭉글한 형태의 요소는 구름 또는 연기라 할 수 있다.
나에게 구름은 어린 시절 모든 것을 순수하게 바라보았던 시선을 의미하며 연기는 어른이 되어 모든 것을 현실적으로 바라보는 시선을 담고 있다.
If we don't jot down our good or not-so-good memories, they just naturally slip away as time goes on. The cartoons and animations from my childhood are these cherished moments that I hold onto. I've begun jotting down those memories in my own little way. The soft, rounded features in my work kinda resemble clouds or smoke. For me, clouds symbolize the pure gaze I had in my childhood, looking at everything with innocence, while smoke encapsulates the perspective of looking at everything realistically as an adult.
