ARTIST STATEMENT

작가는 현실과 무의식 양극단의 세계가 꿈을 통해 연결되는 작가의 경험을 이야기한다. 모호한 시간과 공간의 경계를 표상하며, 그 속에는 항상 선명한 눈을 가진 대상이 존재한다. 이것은 곧 불완전한 세계에서 존재성을 갈구하는 존재, 불안한 현실이지만 그럼에도 살아가는 우리들의 모습으로 투영된다. 영구히 간직될 듯한 아픔들은 혼자만의 시간, 때로는 서로에 대한 위로로 성숙되어 가고 그 모든 것들의 모호한 시공간의 경계 위 어느 시점을 표현하며 몽환적 시간으로 그려낸다. 작가는 내면의 갈등과 성장을 다른 대상에 투영하거나 조각된 기억의 파편들을 새롭게 정의하여 자신의 무의식 속 세계관을 통해 몽환적인 표상을 형상화 한다. 

 

Diren Lee shares the artist's experience in which the worlds of the two extremes of reality and the unconscious are connected through dreams. The reality in DirenLee's work has already been simulated in the unconscious. The unconscious self draws a map of life, and the real self is a repetition of recalling forgotten memories one by one. The ending that will one day arrive is not shown or remembered in advance, but one just accepts the moment and moves forward one step at a time. Whenever there is confusion, the real self meets the unconscious self and draws a consensus. In the process, there is pain and joy,
and one day the two selves will meet.
